KOZA MOSTRA The Ska band from Greece that became famous after their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song “Alcohol is Free”!

“Koza Mostra is apparently one of the most famous Balkan ska bands in Greece” BBC News.

“For these Greeks the crisis doesn’t exist” Bild News

When Ilias Kozas, the lead singer of Koza Mostra, was composing “Alcohol is Free” one year ago, he could not even believe that the title of his song would become a symbol of freedom and optimism.

Koza Mostra become one of the most beloved bands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö (Sweden), and despite the fact that they were awarded with the 6th place in the final winners’ chart, they managed to get the 1st place in the hearts of most Europeans.

On the 22nd of March Koza Mostra, released their first album, titled “Keep up the Rhythm”, in the making of which, they had the honor to work together with Paul Hitter, the artist behind most of the artwork of Gogol Bordello. Mr Hitter created the whole artwork of Koza Mostra’s CD and wrote in it, the following beautiful words:
“I felt more to get to know Koza Mostra at a festival somewhere in the Mountains of Southern France, and it was the best live act I saw in the last years…Got the same feeling and energy that I got at the Gogol Bordello live shows…”

Their exquisite fusion of many music genres, including Ska, Balkan, Rock, Punk, Indie, even Rebetiko (traditional Greek music) from the interwar period, mark “Koza Mostra” as a band not really far from the top. Even one of the world’s most popular and respectful band, “Hooverphonic”, who happened to be present at the band’s debut live appearance in Thessaloniki, (in Greece), just one day before their own concert, referred to Koza Mostra not only before but also during their concert, using the words: “Last night we watched an amazing Greek Ska band, Koza Mostra and you should grab your next chance to watch them live as well..”.

So what is in the minds and hearts of these promising young lads from Greece that makes them so original and makes fans go crazy during their live performances? Well, the only words that can describe the feeling Koza Mostra have before any live performance that makes them give it all out to the fans are: “…their expression of freedom, their genuine love for music as well as their need for making music that is detached of norms and all types of boundaries”.

So...will YOU miss the chance to see Koza Mostra performing live?

Last but not least, Koza Mostra would like to truly thank all the fans and all the newcomers in their fun club, who show their love and support to the band in every single chance they get and send this message to all of them around the world: “Be original, and true to yourselves, keep your thoughts outside of the “box”, never stop singing and dancing and always remember that music comes from the heart and reaches all of us no matter who or where we are!
