**Kassoma** “Your new favourite band” – Manchester Evening News “Anthemic” – Louder Than War “Kassoma are the fresh young things reinventing rock’n’roll with their cut-the-crap mission to play good music without the gimmicks” – Fashion Soundtrack “A masterpiece” – Lyric Lounge Review “Kassoma jump on stage and play their gig-mates clean out of the water” – thisisthelatestnews.com Mancunian quartet Kassoma have released their first EP Natural Selection to critical acclaim, garnering comparisons with the likes of, Editors, The 1975, and Arctic Monkeys.

Their alternative, stadium rock sound and energy has already played to Manchester City’s Etihad stadium, London’s Copper Box Arena, one of Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green stores and the Deaf Institute, earning the band slots alongside Brit Awards Winner’s Ella Eyre and John Newman. Watch out, these guys have been dubbed the next big thing in rock music.

The Kassoma boys add a dramatic twist to the alternative rock genre, playing with a passion and force that belies their years. They are here to shake up the music scene with a raw and unrivalled energy that has seen their music spread and their popularity soar. Their cheeky gusto for life and brotherly banter has charmed their organic cult following of almost twenty thousand fans across a variety of social media platforms and now word has spread. Kassoma have arrived.

It’s no wonder then that Real XS Radio described them as: “Anthemic, atmospheric, intense, dramatic and definitely one to look out for in the future.” Known for their electric live shows that have made waves across the UK, the band have played stadium arenas to intimate venues, and all this with just one EP under their belt. Their eclectic musical influences range from soul to rock and can be traced throughout the tracks on their latest EP Natural Selection. But this is a band best experienced live.

The band, all in their twenties, showcases multi-instrumental talent throughout their EP. Born and bred throughout Manchester and the North West, James, Mike, Nathan and Jake grew up on a musical diet of Britpop, punk-rock and groovy soul. They have just started their Autumn / Winter tour and festival circuit which starts with a bang at Salford Music Festival includes at UK universities and ends at The Etihad Stadium.

Kassoma write songs for lovers, ravers and these songs have bite. They represent a new voice that isn’t content to just sit back and let the world pass them by. Kassoma speak up and speak out for their generation. The rhythmic bass and syncopated electric riffs collide to make a spectacular sound that is offset all the more by their sensitive, tender lyrics. The final result is a creative masterpiece that rocks the boat and your soul to its very core.

The latest EP features songs such as Breathe and Red Lights which explore the joy and pain of relationships. The beautiful lyrics speak to all generations, examining the tender nostalgia of youth, passion and heartbreak. In crowd-favourite Breathe, Kassoma sing: For days and days I just dance to your moods / But dancing's done, now can we please change the tune?

Their songwriting is a collaborative process with their influences ranging from funk, indie and soul to drum and bass and chart pop. And the boys themselves are as likeable as their music. Their charisma inspired Never Enough Notes to praise their feel-good vibes in their latest review by saying: “You know you’ve attended a gig that’s made an impact when afterwards, despite your early start, you find yourself tucked up in bed in a good mood while your ears are ringing to high heaven.”

Since their debut single Control, released in June 2013 and followed by their debut EP, Natural Selection, which was recorded at Edge Studios under Mark Winterburn (Plan B, The Script, New Order), the boys have come a long way, receiving a phenomenal response from critics and fans and have cemented their status as a “future classics” band.
