It seemed destined then that the Dineen and Crean lineage would reincarnate by chance many years later in the form of KALA. Hailing from south west London, the young duo have been producing and performing music together since 2015. With Hospital Records collaborator Emer operating as singer/songwriter and Classically trained Michael operating as composer/producer, the duo make highly atmospheric and elegantly constructed electronic music grounded by their jazz and soul roots. Holding contemporary influences such as Seekae, Kate Tempest, FKA Twigs and Hiatus Kaiyote and more classical influences such as Messiaen, Bill Evans and Ray Charles. KALA look set to further the aesthetic inventiveness of their sound without ever losing the heart or vocal tenacity of their jazz and soul based origins.
