Bakgrund
Den 17 juli fick de äntligen se Steely Dan live när gruppen spelade på Skeppsholmen i Stockholm under jazzfestivalen. Året var 2007.

Exakt 10 år senare bildades bandet de pratat om att starta sedan den där kvällen i Stockholm.

Andreas Gustafsson, sång och Magnus Sjöquist, bas hade båda lyssnat på Steely Dans musik långt innan den där julikvällen då de hörde gruppen live för första gången. Låtarna, innehållande über-coola grooves, harmonisk struktur man inte hört inom populärmusik förut, täta och fulländade körer, spännande sångmelodier och underfundiga texter, hade förtrollat dem under många år...

Josie & the Cousins - the Steely Dan Tribute hade fötts!

De är i gott sällskap. Många musiker världen över har startat tributeband för att hylla och visa sin uppskattning till musiken som skapats av Donald Fagen och Walter Becker.

Andreas och Magnus är mycket glada över att lyckats få ihop en stark line-up med fantastiska musiker och vänner. Just nu lägger man till kör och blås och kommer att vara 14+ personer när konsertscener här och där äntras under hösten.

Background Story



It was July 17 and they finally got to see Steely Dan playing live at Skeppsholmen, Stockholm, Sweden. The year was 2007.

 Exactly 10 years later the tribute band they have talked about since that day back in 2007 has finally been formed. 



Andreas Gustafsson, lead vocals and Magnus Sjöquist, bass has listened to the music of Steely Dan for many years before that first live show experience. The songs, consisting of cool grooves and harmonic structure, super slick vocal harmonies and quirky lead vocals with a lyric content not heard anywhere else, has mesmerized them for many years.



Josie & the Cousins | The Steely Dan Tribute has been born. They are in good company. There are many other musicians that has started tribute bands to show their appreciation for the music of Donald Dagen and Walter Becker.

We are super happy to have managed to enlist a great cast of fantastic musicians and friends.
At the moment we’re adding background vocals and horns to the mix and will be up towards 14, 15 musicians when we hit the stages this Fall.
