A virtuoso in the viola, as everybody already noticed, José Valente transposes this instrument to thrilling contemporaneity. From the usage, without restrains, of modern gadgets (effects pedals, loops, etc.) as from the usage of several diverse musical genres (jazz, world music, contemporary). A crossing of barriers that one can also find in international compliments; from instrumental co-players such as Daniel Levin or Jason Kao Hwang, to Carl Djerassi, writer and co-inventor of the contraceptive pill.
