Joey Clarkson is an accomplished singer-songwriter, producer, and content creator.

With a career spanning over 20 years, Joey has established herself as a versatile artist, crossing borders and gaining recognition in both her home country, Canada, and her new home, the UK.

In 2019, Joey released her third full-length album, a self-funded project titled "The Year That Never Happened." The album was recorded at Big Smoke Studios in London, UK, and mastered for vinyl at Abbey Road Studios. It garnered glowing reviews, including a prestigious four-star review from Maverick Magazine, and caught the attention of London Live T.V., leading to a prime-time feature and interview.

Shortly after the release of "The Year That Never Happened," Joey had an unfortunate accident that involved her dog, a squirrel and an extendable lead. What she had initially thought was a sprained wrist turned out to be more serious—a dislodged piece of bone pressing on a fracture line from a childhood injury. Unfortunately, her diagnosis and surgery dates were delayed for 18 months due to COVID-19 and hospital wait times. Despite dealing with chronic pain and being unable to play the guitar, Joey persevered. She used this time to write new music and learn about sound treatment and proper vocal and instrumental recording techniques. Alongside her husband Peter Dixon, Joey recorded and released five new songs with the assistance of co-producer Ryan John Griffiths, who worked remotely from his home studio.

During this time, Joey also focused on creating educational videos about the music business for fellow creatives, on her youtube channel: Joey Clarkson Music. Covering topics like “How to get your album printed to Vinyl” and “How to get your first 1000 streams on Spotify” to “The dangers of encouraging your audience to stream your music on repeat”; these videos have gone on to help thousands of other independent artists better navigate the music business world.

Following her wrist surgery in 2021, Joey made the decision to take a break from performing, writing, and releasing music to prioritize her mental and physical health. Though not an easy choice, it has allowed her to reflect on her journey and define her future path as an artist.

Currently, Joey is in the process of recording new music, with several new singles set for release this summer.
