The music of Joern Peeck (drums), Michael Linke (piano) and Michael Haupt (electric bass) does not fit in an existing genre. They rather combine their individual musical experiences with various influences ranging from progressive rock to traditional jazz trio tocreate their own sound.
'Joern and The Michaels' stand for a blues piano with glissando attacks, a melodic-warm, yet presentelectric bass, and a rocking and melodically interactive drumset. The result is an individually coloured jazz-rock which is characterized by ever-present contrast. At the same time, 'Kick Jazz' is catchy and danceable on the one hand, but challenging and explorative on the other.
The audience can feel this. 'Kick Jazz' does not cease to amaze many ears and eyes in established venues and beyond – in club surroundings, at the festival, in the concert hall or at an alpine station 2000 meters high...
