Debonair Deviant Hyper-masculine Ultra-femme MoonStruck Lycanthropic Crooner.

The Voice of a waking dream - gazing at the stars and howling at the moon.

Having spent ten years as the Vocalist and lyricist for Galway “lounge Punks” Cuckoo Savante, Jaime Nanci has earned his stripes and now with the emergence of his new Jazz and Blues ensemble The Blueboys, he is fast becoming one of Irelands most recognized contemporary jazz vocalists.

Legendary Irish blues singer Mary Coughlan has called him “The best singer to come out of Ireland in the last thirty years” and after witnessing Jaime serenade a crowd last year Bono was moved to tell him he had “A voice like a waking dream”.

The Blueboys is an ever evolving and growing ensemble of some of Irelands best and most sought after jazz musicians, with the core group made up be Darragh O'Kelly on piano, Shane Latimer on guitar, Dave Redmond on Bass, Kevin Brady on Drums, and Ciaran Wilde on Saxophone and Clarinet.

Jaime Nanci Looks like a cartoon character punk and sounds like a girl. This is a fact he has embraced with relish.

“When people see me, they immediately think I am going to sound like some sort of rocker, and I do love a bit of Punk Rock, but I love to see a strangers face when they hear me sing for the first time, The confusion is beautiful.”

“All my life people have told me they thought I was a black woman when they first heard me, I have had people come up to the stage and ask where the girl that was just singing has gone”.

It was with this in mind that Jaime and the band made waves touring The Nina Simone songbook around Ireland and New York (2013) “Nina Simones vocal Doppelganger” - Gay Times, UK.

So he sounds like a Jazz Dame from the 1940's, a gangsters moll with man trouble singing into the gin soaked bar top of a Chicago speakeasy. Glad that we cleared that up.

With the unequalled musicianship of The Blueboys for accompaniment Jaime has created storysongs that regale the listener with tales of eccentric madames and hedonistic parties, love songs for dead sailors and supernatural Tango's. These songs tip their feathered hats to the classic standards and torch songs of the aforementioned jazz era, but have a contemporary twist and queer sensibility that is very much a reflection of modern life. A strange skewed glimpse into a seedier side of life in Modern Ireland. Into this mayhem Jaime lends his talents to songs by modern day pop icons

Jaime Nanci & The Blueboys have performed sold out shows all around Ireland, In Odessa Dublin With their “Jaime Nanci Sings.... Nina Simone” show , The Triskel Arts centre, Cork as part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, And Galways Roisin Dubh .They have also played shows all around New York from Freddys backroom in Brooklyn to Yotel in Hells Kitchen, and the renowned Laurie Beechman Theatre, 42nd Street.
