He was born in Chingford, London and comes from a family of showground heritage.

Leone showed an interest in music at an early age, learning the acoustic and electric guitar through books and by ear, largely due to the influence of his older brother. By the age of 10, Leone had settled in the Norfolk countryside, which J.J now cites as his hometown. It was here that he was able to learn the drums and bass guitar, along with the electronic production of music, all with no tuition.

Released in March 2017, his EP ‘The Rebuild’, recorded in his bathroom, peaked at #12 in the Singer-Songwriter Charts and subsequently caught the attention of BBC Introducing, the Unsigned Music Awards and a number of musical blogs across the world. Leone has now created his own brand of soul-pop fusion called ‘Dark Soul’, and prides himself on the fact that he writes, records and produces all of his own material, setting him apart from the crowd as the ultimate un-manufactured DIY artist.

To date, he has amassed over 1,500,000 views on Facebook and over 275,000 YouTube views, as well as performing at prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Sundown Festival, Donington Park and sold out European Sofar Sounds showcases.
