This is the Gigmit page for original 4-piece metal band "In Which It Burns".

Formed in March of 2016, by Lead Guitarist Steve Flynn (Exit Wound / Charcoal Sun) and Drummer Dan Mayhew (Exit Wound / Charcoal Sun). The two went about recording idea's, while looking at completing the line-up. In early April, Michael Thomas, aka Roberto, or Mikey! joined the ranks, and completing the line-up in mid May, was Dan's brother Wayne aka Stretch taking on frontman duties, and providing guitar back-up for Steve. In August, the band began to work on self-recording their 4-track debut E.P. titled "Hatred In Disguise". Recording was completed in early September, before being sent off to "Loud Noises Studio's" in Birmingham, England, and was mixed & mastered by Owen Davies. The E.P. was completed on 21st November 2016, with plans to make it available early 2017. After many rehearsals, the band took to the stage for the first time on 25th November in "Crowleys Rock Bar, Swansea", where they played an 8-track all originals set, which was very well received by the small but appreciative crowd. A month later, the band played only their second show, a local chrsitmas bash held by their mates in the band "Iron Rhino", at the recently closed "Charlie's Bar, Milford Haven". The band was again very well received, playing the same 8-track set as their first show, with a great response from a great crowd. Sadly the beginning of 2017, saw IWIB part ways with their bass playing friend Mikey, but thankfully on good terms. By Spring of 2017, the band had written enough tracks to record their 2nd E.P. Again the drums were recorded in April, with the guitars being completed in May, and finally the vocals in June. After trying out a couple of bassists during this time, the band remain at present as a 3-piece, even playing a show minus a bassist, in "The Duke, Neath" in August. The 17th August saw the band enter "StudiOwz" with engineer/wizard Owain Jenkins, to begin mixing what was to be “Beneath The Darkness Of Sky E.P.” which was completed and released in September.
The rest of the year was spent playing the odd show, while beginning work on our next batch of songs. January 2018 saw IWIB play a very well received set in “The Office, Swansea”, and an appearance at “Crowley’s Rock Bar”, also in Swansea. After realising that the band had made a mistake in letting original bassist ‘Mikey’ go, they asked if he would be interested in re-joining the band, which he thankfully did in February. March 2018 see’s the band firing on all cylinders once again, with plenty of new material in the pipeline ready to record for a debut album release, planned for Summer 2018. Numerous shows have already been booked for Spring, and will continue well into the summer, with plans to tour the UK and beyond.
