The outfit blends natural and acoustic energies with abrasive digital soundscapes in a large field of space.
On July 8th 2013 in violet released their debut album on Cognitive Dissonance Records. Described as"one mightily impressive debut" by Stereoboard, the album showed a marked progression from their previous EPs. A stunningly creepy video for 'Entomophobia' was premiered by VICE, and the album saw complete reinterpretation by a number of producers across the world in the form of remix album 'opal (reworked)'.
opal was recorded disparately, with band members living in different cities and even countries at the year-long production period, with a series of guest musicians including Robert Ford on flugelhorn and Adele & Sian of BIRD performing backing vocals.
in violet are currently performing old and new music while working on their follow-up release.
