IamYunique's mixtape, R301, was released on the 29th of August 2009 under the label of Coded Records (known as Coded Music) in Cape Town, who he signed to on the 17th of January 2009. The mixtape consist out of collaborations with Mizchif, Miztah Naztaljah, Xabiso, Supreme, Emage and the Multi- Grammy Award winner John Legend with the song "If you out there". IamYunique also took part in Reverbnations Sponsored Song Programme made possible by Microsoft Windows USA. His song "Dive" was chosen for the programme. This was due to IamYunique being ranked Nr.1 on Reverbnations Band Equity Charts Nationally for the hip- hop/ rap genre for more than six months. IamYunique is a member of the South African Music Rights Organization.
His song “Moneymaker featuring Junior B” from his mixtape “Renovatio” was ranked number 2 on Mxit Music’s Top 40 Charts in 2008. “A gal named Lucy” reached number 1 on Radio KC’s Streetmix Hip Hop Show and “Shake ya Belly” was at number 9 on FHFM’s Top 30 Chart Show that is from his current mixtape R301. He is a qualified Sales & Marketing Manager, Audio Engineer, Station Manager & Technical Producer and Voice- Artist. IamYunique took part in a competition in the South African Music Week in 2000 and his group, Diziplez of Stone a.k.a. DOS, won the opportunity to record their album at Tin Pan Alley/ Cape Audio College with Gee. Their song "Stone Anthem" was included on the "Ek sê mamela! It's our music" Compilation. In the following year of 2001 he performed alongside Black Noise at a concert organised by him and then at the African Hip Hop Indaba at Beach Road Studios/ SABC.
The year, 2009 he had numerous performances at established events in and around Cape Town and the Northen Cape which include the Graff Expo at Zula Bar and the Mc & Dj Battle at Club Vertigo in Long Street as part of the "African Hip Hop Indaba", CapCol Entertainment’s “Verses” at Club Night Shift2 in Eersteriver, the “Ithuba Arts Festival” at the University of the Western Cape where he received an award for his contribution to the arts in the Western Cape, Ultimate Element 5’s “Hip Hop Jam Sessions” at Killarney Race Track, the Urban Street Style Convention at Good Hope Centre, NFM 98.1 in stereo’s celebration for receiving their permanent broadcasting licence, plus many more.
He had numerous performances with the late Mizchif "Big Miz" (his friend and ex- manager) D- Form (ex- Moodphase 5 member), Blaq Pearl (the late Devious sister), Emo Adams, Afro- Z, Ayesha, Mafikizola, Black Noise, Freshlyground, Georgia Me (Tamika Harper - Atlanta, United States of America), Outspoken, Rattex, Mario Ogle, Timo Abdul Aziz Pahad, Emage, Perspektif, Suburban Menace, Grand Alliance, New Sons Cartel (NSC), Mc Cole, Garlic Brown, Genie Grindid, Spijo (member of the group H2O who collaborated with him on a song for his store release) Slu Dem Cru, plus many more.
IamYunique received a lot of accomplishments in his music career, which includes his song “Siyeza” that received a 5 star review as well as being ranked Nr.2 on MtaaFm's charts and "Swaar Raak" that is featured on MtaaFM's "African Syndicate" compilation in 2008. His song "Street Life" featuring Jah I Witness from Philly who is signed to Universal Music France and produced by St. Paul was also included on the "Street Merchant's Mixtape", a project that was started by PAPER CHA$ERZ in Philadelphia and features some of the worlds most talented individuals, thus proving that his music equally binds together urban rhythms, technology, power of real life ordeals and a return to roots a true cultural melting pot.
