Whenever possible the band plays unplugged to create a compelling intimacy with the audience. Based on Acoustic guitar, mandolin and banjo, accordion and layers of colorful vocal harmonies, their music is raw acoustics and forges a bridge between the American folk and bluegrass tradition and contemporary songwriting. After its 2013 EP release the band opened its casket of songs on the Weeping Love Grass Grows tour through Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, playing some 50 shows. Taking up the momentum, Hungerhoff & The Wild Roots went on a summer tour through Denmark, Holland, England and Scotland in July and August of 2014, gaining recognition for their powerful live performances.
