In a remarkably short time, they have earned recognition from the Polish Radio, released their debut album, and are already working on their second one. Their music quickly found an audience and garnered critical acclaim, positioning them as a serious contender in the traditional music scene. The band continues to grow its social media presence and carefully manages its public image.
HrayBery/ГрайБери breathes new life into forgotten music born at the crossroads of two cultures—Polish and Ukrainian. Their repertoire features lively dance tunes, including kozaks, kolomyikas, mazurkas, polkas, and waltzes, reconstructed from archival sources such as manuscripts and historical audio recordings. These melodies were collected by both Polish and Ukrainian ethnomusicologists in the San River basin and other parts of Eastern Galicia.
The instruments used by the band—such as fiddles, cimbalom, drum, and bass—have been present in this region since the late 16th century. By blending authenticity with contemporary energy, HrayBery/ГрайБери invites listeners to rediscover the shared musical heritage of two neighboring nations.
