João Campos and Tiago Lopes join their superpowers into a sleazy groovy rock duo impregnated in burnt passions, stoner, grunge and blues.

With the massive, screaming low-end frequencies of a guitar, the thunderous and fiery rhythms of the drums blended with haunting melodic vocals, HER NAME WAS FIRE deliver demolishing sound waves both live and studio, converting every newcomer to a feverous fan.

To the day, they’ve been spreading their music live consistently, performing live in all kinds of venues and festivals, sharing stage with several international bands such as Nick Oliveri’s Mondo Generator, The Vintage Caravan, Radio Moscow, The Black Mirrors amongst others, conquering the crowds with their fierce, powerful and unique performances in Portuguese, Spanish and English soils.

The duo embraces the DIY spirit, being both also in charge of the whole design, illustration, film making, aesthetics and all sort of creative collaborations they always try to put together for their shows and records.

At the moment they are regarded as one of the most prominent emerging bands in Portugal and growing into the global rock scene, with their first fulllength album “ROAD ANTICS” (Feb. 2017) reaching a year-round airplay in radios, a strong media and online presence, videoclips, a tour comprised of more than 50 dates for the time being, and an award won in Spain.

The record was edited both in CD and Vinyl and has gotten great, enthusiastic reviews.

Set the challenge with their ambitious first album, HER NAME WAS FIRE now aim their creative guns at new music, challenging their abilities in the exploration of new sounds, dimensions and ultimately their own refined language and identity.

“Specter” is the first advance single that the band is putting out as a first taste for what the awaited second album will uphold.

Written and produced by the band and recorded in the world class Canoa Studios, the song portrays the story of a ghost that refuses to leave the haunting, but shapes the duo’s sound into a new breed of grunge angst and modern alternative rock with a huge hook.
