Harotnica band (or The Destructive Firemen Orchestra, as the musicians call it themselves) popped out in 2007 in Minsk, Belarus.

The concept of the band, in which the lyrics tell stories of hard female destiny and the music is purposely sarcastic, belongs to Belarussian artist/poet Andrus Takidang. After a while the acoustic 4-piece band turned into a small, 8-piece orchestra which includes also electric instruments. The music itself is a fusion of SKA, Reggae, Punk-rock, Jazz and Balcan styles. The peculiar instrumental line-up, the smokey timbre of a singer, unconventional forms of compositions and an extremely energetic stage presence make them stand out from other bands. The music of Harotnica is meant for both - punks and melancholics, it makes you go wild, but can also sit you down.
