The daughter of a catholic priest and a runaway circus contortionist, Hana Piranha borrows freely from religious iconography and partakes liberally in whatever makes your head explode.

Her music takes you on a voyeuristic trip in which she is her own experiment in pleasure, regret and shame.

"The combination of beefy rock riffs, razor sharp violin licks and a drawled, snarly vocal that Juliette Lewis would kill for is not one to be ignored."
- Roland Monger, Listen With Monger

Hana Piranha is a classically trained virtuoso violinist. From an early age she identified with strong women and individuality. Like her heroes Patti Smith and PJ Harvey, Hana has a complexity and vulnerability about her that shows you can be strong and triumphant by being wounded and fragile.

"Not so much caravans and campfires, more like T-Birds and Tequila... It all sounds like Kittie covering AC/DC...with a violin."
- Michael Johnson, Nemesis To Go

On her debut album Cold Comfort, Hana Piranha opens up her diary to close scrutiny. On "Drinking For Two" she sings about how to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. "Chipping Myself Away" is about coming out of drunken stupor to realise someone you don’t know in a flat you don’t know how you got to is raping you. Disturbing subject matter with music that never needs to sound pretty to be stunningly beautiful.

"If you love music that comes from the heart, is loud, dark and a wee bit devilish - you’re going to love Hana Piranha."
- Olivia Cellamare, Gypsy Death And You

"Sweetest Thing and Hourglass are epic and impressive, while the virtuoso violin solos are note-for-note perfect. That the room is fuller than ever by the time this enigmatic group had finished was testament to the quality of their set, and makes this London-based quartet one to watch for sure."
