Nothing is minor in Guerrera.

These huge musicians with great backgrounds in some of the most important bands in the history of Galician and national underground (Ictus, Holywater, Cuzo, Cró!, Disappointment) came together in order to carry out this project which could not be anything but supreme.

Last year was their debut year with Under the Gypsy Sun (Self-edited, 2013) which converted them into the next best Galician thing: a treaty of stoner, psychedelic, blues and classical rock based on their lysergic staging that dazzled the critics and the public in several dozens of concerts throughout the Iberian peninsula.

It was not foolish to think their offer would grow and we were not wrong. Mauna Loa is the biggest volcano in the world and it places us immediately: its new album is one dense sallad bowl of all the previous work, splashing every now and then some black music, Latino beats, improvisation and darkness. It smells just like a historical album because, just as with great dishes, we love the flavor but the elaboration is a mystery.

Guerrera have grown wider, with infinite layers of music also reflected in the artwork of their new album – a giant collage created by the band and their closest friends, assembled by Hugo Santeiro – which promises to make a difference in format and content.
