GHT and Hawksley Workman collide on this head banging, pelvic-grinding, soft-shoeing, hippy tripping, soul-soothing, make out session of sweet sounds.

“This is What You Get...” when long time friends and collaborators Johnny Griffith and Nathan Hiltz move their risk-taking style in a genre warping direction with their 2nd album. Shaping their departure from mainstream jazz is indie pop hero and eclectic madman Hawksley Workman. Fuelled by popsicles and good wine, GHT, begins rooted in the jazz tradition and launches into the unexpected.
GHT appeals to more than just your average jazz listener. They’ve rallied impromptu dance parties with hippies on Salt Spring Island, elated elementary school students, and festival audiences from St. John’s to the Yukon. Combining influences from Duke Ellington to Otis Redding to Black Sabbath to Kermit the Frog, GHT proves not only that they are at the forefront their genre – they’re creating their own.
GHT’s “This is What You Get...” is a purely enjoyable ride of post-bop, raunchy rock and one of the catchiest pop tunes you’ll ever hear.
