Biography These songs suggest a sensual simplicity.

Meditative, inspirational, and reflective, they transform seemingly simple content into sounds that audiences can easily listen and relate to. Influences include Natacha Atlas, Stevie Nicks, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Catpower, Air, Blondie, Johnny Cash, Wanda Jackson, and Mazzy Star.

Singer-songwriter Krista Lewandowski lived a half hour outside of Milwaukee in town and birthplace of Les Paul; that is, Waukesha, Wisconsin (newly referred to as GuitarTown), where she attended Waukesha South High School. Notable alumni include Frank Caliendo, a former MADtv star and impressionist, Morgan and Paul Hamm, Silver and Gold Olympic Medalists, and most notably, Kurt Neumann, Sam Llanas, and Bob Griffin of the band BoDeans. This is just a handful of the talented individuals who have been shaped and encouraged at this school.

Her sophomore year of school, she bought her first electric-acoustic guitar during a time of rather boring mononucleosis. To this day, friends fondly remember her “blue” guitar. Krista began teaching herself to play with the assistance of some rather musical peers. She won the freshman talent showcase at UW-Green Bay which further fueled her fire, and after one year at the school she packed her bags to complete her Secondary English Education degree in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she frequented poetry nights, and acoustic open mics, and played shows at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn, Tai Joes’s, the MIAD union, ReJo’s, Riverwest Commons, the Miramar Theatre, and Bremen Café.

In 2004 Krista was ready for a bigger fish bowl, and relocated to Cicero, Illinois, right outside of Chicago, and briefly hosted a monthly acoustic night at Chicago’s RedEyes Coffee. She played shows at Phyllis’ Musical Inn, The Heartland Cafe, Uncommon Ground, and Bernice’s Tavern, in Chicago. For a few years, she sang back-up vocals for Berwyn-based band Istvan and His Imaginary Band. Gigs included the Beat Kitchen and Do-Division Fest in Chicago, among many others. You can hear her on two albums, “Things I Like” and “Sweet!”

From early on, her single acoustic endeavors have been likened to Mazzy Star. Her strengths lie in her vocals, lyrics, and songwriting, and genres include rock, acoustic, acoustic-rock, folk, folk-rock, folk-pop, blues, and down-temp.

Krista’s songs can be heard in Bugsy X’s independent movie via XFacta Films titled, “Crazy N Love.”

Krista is currently organizing the beginning of a new band. She continues to write songs and prepare for recording. For more information, visit www.gracegoddess.com. For booking and further inquiries, please contact gracegoddessmusic@gmail.com or 708-683-9324.
