Born in Santander, Gizmo grew up in Bilbao and arrived in London by way of Cardiff where he studied media as an aspiring documentary maker. However, a lost summer busking for food and accommodation across southern France lead him down another path. One year later his debut single ‘One and Only’ was warmly received with plays from Simon Raymonde on Amazing Radio and DJ Gary Crowley at BBC Introducing who called his sound “timeless.” The single reached 25 on the Tradio pop chart and he started receiving the seal of approval from seasoned artists the likes of Gavin James and Jack Savoretti who he supported on tours across the UK and Europe. This included shows at the Sage Newcastle, QMU Glasgow, Melkweg and Paradiso in Amsterdam to name a few.
On this self-written, self-performed and self-recorded debut, he brings a refreshing take to the singer songwriter genre. He will be supporting La Yegros at this year’s La Linea Festival in London on the 22nd April at Rich Mix.
