The annual Inverness-based XpoNorth festival (formerly goNORTH) is Scotland's leading creative industries festival.
A hot-bed of creative activity, XpoNorth takes place over two exciting and energising days and nights in the Highland capital of Inverness. Having showcased over 1,000 new bands since its launch, XpoNorth is a unique event in the UK's cultural calendar.

We invite music submissions from live music acts which can include electronic sets. In order to be considered for XpoNorth 2017 you must have a minimum of three tracks available online, in order for XpoNorth to listen to or view a performance. You must have enough original material to perform a live performance set of 60 minutes. Music must be wholly originally composed, written, and performed. There is no fee to submit your music.

By applying you agree to the following terms and conditions:
In order to be considered for XpoNorth 2017 you agree that:
1) Your music is available online, in order for XpoNorth to listen to or view a performance.
2) You have a minimum of three tracks available online as audio or video.
3) You have enough original material to perform a live performance set of 60 minutes.
4) Your music is wholly originally composed, written, and performed (covers are not accepted).
5) By submitting your music to XpoNorth 2017 you are certifying that the material submitted is your own work and that you own all of the rights.
6) You confirm that you, as the person submitting the music, has full authorisation to grant XpoNorth permission to host the performance.
7) All copyright holders for the music agree to allow XpoNorth to use a maximum of 20% of the material in advertising and publicity.
8) All copyright holders for the music agree to allow XpoNorth to include said music in XpoNorth curated programmes provided to partner festivals in the UK and abroad for inclusion in their festival music programme under the banner of XpoNorth.
9) You allow XpoNorth to present your material at any XpoNorth events held outwith the festival in June.
10) You confirm that all third party copyright within the music is cleared for our purpose of hosting the performance and publicising.
11) By submitting to XpoNorth 2017 you are accepting that you must be available on either the 7th or 8th June 2017 in Inverness to perform in-person. This is a public event with an audience.
12) By submitting to XpoNorth 2017 you are accepting that we will use your likeness and/or promotional images in our publicity online, in communications, and in recorded media.

In order to be considered for XpoNorth 2017 you agree to prepare the following material in order to apply (make sure it's on your artist page):
1) Specify the genre/s of your music.
2) Specify the location of your group – town/city/region and country.
3) Specify social media presence.
4) Band/Performer description (max 30 words).
5) URL for your music (e.g. website, audio links). This should be a one-click audio link. Facebook is not preferred to assess submissions. If we or any of our jury have to hunt for you material, using several clicks, it is unlikely you will be chosen to showcase.
6) Publicity photograph that represents the band/performer well (this may be used online or in our printed materials, min size of 500 pixels wide in JPG, PNG or PDF format, and no larger than 1.5MB) Please ensure that this photo does not have the band name in captions, gig or venue details, single or album names in captions or any other captions: it should be clean. This photo file should be named with your band name. Please avoid submitting photos called jpeg1 or photo. We will be unable to process applications if this happens.

In order to be considered for XpoNorth 2017 you agree that:
1) You are applying by an online submission form/entry via Gigmit (your music will not be considered if do not complete a submission form).
2) All band members are listed with their full names and email address where possible.
3) One point of contact has been nominated.
4) The online submission form has been completed and the music's URL/s are working by the current submissions closing date 1st April 2017. If your submissions links don’t work when we are assessing applications, your submission will not be considered. If in special circumstances you cannot upload your music online by the closing date please get in touch at info@xponorth.co.uk to discuss options. This needs to happen before the closing date has passed. Any petitions to submit after the closing date has passed cannot be considered.
