With HELLSEATIC, a collective of musicians and organizers from Bremen was founded at the end of 2019 to finally give the metal fans of the Hanseatic city and beyond the festival they deserve. Originally planned for September 2020, then postponed twice, the first HELLSEATIC Open Air Festival took place in September 2021 on the grounds of Bremen's Woll-Kämmerei in Blumenthal. Despite the pandemic, the team managed to hold a safe and distance-friendly event for up to 1000 visitors. However, the festival should be more than just a festival, but also further network the local scene and be a platform for all metal fans, musicians, bands, collectives and other scene representatives from Bremen and the surrounding area. The HELLSEATIC sees itself as a festival for all fans of hard and extreme music. Tolerance, solidarity, inclusion and social togetherness are important to the makers. Thus, the festival area will be designed barrier-free to allow all visitors an unforgettable festival experience. At the same time, any kind of exclusion such as racism, fascism, sexism or trans- and homophobia will not be tolerated.
