Inspired by early motown, folk, roots and blues music, his sound is a warm, heart achingly beautiful, acoustic blend that will surprise and delight. He has recently joined forces with guitarist, Skeet Williams and bass player, Oscar South and are playing to great critical acclaim, to audiences across England, Wales and beyond.
Gary’s self-produced and self-released debut album The Cabinet Maker was launched to a sell out audience at St George’s Hall, Liverpool, in November and was Christmas number one on Radio Caroline’s Album Countdown Chart. It was placed number seven in their Album Review Show of 2014 out of 192 albums. The first single from the album, Bang Bang Bang, will be released in the spring.
‘In terms of a live concert, I think I can honestly say I have never been to one that was better. Not just in terms of the songs themselves, but for the sheer quality of musicianship and visual performance too. Gary with his powerful yet unassuming presence, Skeet with his entertaining ‘guitar faces’ during meticulously executed riffs, and Oscar, whose relationship with the double bass is much like that of a ballroom dancer on the dance floor.’ Chris Birchall
