Freiraum Syndikat is a German project and was founded by the cellist Lukas Dreyer.

Together with jazz guitarist Markus Fleischer and the two recorder player Friederike
Vollert and Elisabeth Neuser he is walking an extraordinary path. The ensemble, with its
unique lineup, explores the creative realms of completely different musical styles, free
improvisation, arrangement and composition. The unconventional instrumentation as well
as the melding of differing musical worlds leads to surprisingly new experiences of
sound.
The program is inspired by a collaborative project with an exceptional puppet theater
show called “Dance”. It connects baroque music by Antonio Vivaldi (La Follia) and
Johann-Sebastian Bach (Siciliana) with Tangos by Astor Piazzolla, Samba rhythms by
Antonio Carlos Jobim as well as compositions by Pat Metheny. But also modern
Japanese flute music by Ryohei Hirose as well as original arrangements of compositions
by Béla Bartók and Leonard Bernstein are included. The world of sound spans all the
way to the music of ABBA, Michael Jackson and Radiohead.
