Simply known as FOTC, Freedom Of The City are a 4-piece alternative/rock band from the North West of England.

Starting out in the summer of 2010 the band were quickly signed up by Mick McConnell and his management label.

Two years later after touring around the country extensively, Freedom Of The City wanted to take their sound to the next level and now had a catalogue of tracks that they felt were "album worthy". In June 2013, the band met producer/engineer Andy Macpherson at his very own Revolution Studios. "We were excited about the feedback we got from Andy. To hear a guy who's worked with the likes of The a Who, Eric Clapton, Doves, Snow Patrol and Buzzcocks lavish praise on our tunes was a great feeling. He seemed excited about what he was listening to and it was soon decided we'd enter the studio and begin to lay down our debut record".

Since production began in October 2013, the band have recorded the album across a number of studios including Revolution, Castle Rock and their own Echo Tone based in Stockport. The album features some great session musicians including keyboard and pianist Mikey Rowe who has toured the world with some of the worlds biggest selling bands & solo artists.

"It's going to be a great year for us in 2015. With a great album nearing completion which is getting some real interest we feel we can really kick on the year and break through. The record is sounding incredible and we've a lot to be excited about."

To quote a recent review "From our point of view there's nothing more serious happening in or around Manchester than FOTC. Having listened, watched and looked into this band intensely, we see no reason why they cannot be one of the best things in music coming out of Manchester, out of the UK and out into the world with global success."
