It suited their goal to make off-kilter guitar pop songs that married the locally inspired song-writing of The Kinks and The Undertones with the sounds of The Pixies, Pavement and Superchunk.
Since forming late 2013 Freak's have had their two releases ("Number One"and "A Minute More") playlisted on BBC Radio 1 Introducing with Jen and Ally alongside various shows across BBC Northern Ireland, Today FM as well as Ireland's prestigious Dan Hegarty show on 2fm. 2014 saw Freak's perform to much success across the Irish festival circuit, get selected for a live BBC Northern Ireland TV session and finish 2nd of 25 in Chordblossom's "Top Acts of 2014", listed in the Irish Daily Mirror's "top 10 of 2014" and #64 in The Thin Air's "Best of 2014".
2015 sees Freak's prepare their first official EP release, have their single "A Minute More" used in a Guinness Warehouse promo as well as collaborate with Tayto Crisps Ireland on a song-writing commission. On top of this they hope to play their first shows in mainland UK and translate the success of their first year in Ireland to pastures new.
