State Of Affairs EP | EP | 2012 |
They describe their sound as 'Skindie' which is perfectly represented in their music by the offbeat SKA hooks and big indie refrains, fronted by tongue-in-cheek social commentary, delivered in a singing - rap style. Since the release of their debut EP 'State of Affairs' they have taken their sound nationwide: From shows at Barfly London, Sub89 Reading and The Stairway club Glasgow, to festivals such as Isle of Wight, Guilfest and Camden Rocks, supporting acts such as The Rifles, Mystery Jets, King Charles and Neville Staple along the way. They have also competed and won two Battle of the Band competitions, winning prizes such as studio funding and fesitval slots. More recently, the band attracted the attention of Radio 1's Huw Stephens, who played their popular track 'Brenda' on his evening show. The Lads; Pete, Steve, Azza and Sy have been working on their follow up EP 'A Commoner's Tale', which is due to be released in Febuary 2015 featuring collaborations with Nikolaj Torp (The Specials) and Grammy award winner Dyre Gormsen. Influences include The Specials, Arctic Monkeys, Eminem, The Clash and life in general.
