Extemporize are a new London-based jazz quartet with a compelling, drum’n'bass soaked sound led by Mark Heaney, described by Rhythm magazine as “one of the most Jaw dropping players in the UK”
Shortly after they formed in early 2015, they recorded their debut album Capital, recording live over 2 days at Platform studios.
The band wanted to capture a very organic, raw, gritty, “in the moment” album with very little cutting or editing – very much reflecting the band’s name and approach to their music. It is an amazing debut that captures the energy and excitement of their live performances.
