His passion for the guitar started when he was very young and as an adolescent he played in different bands with friends. After completing his studies he moved to the USA to play with local blues bands in the area of Massachussets. Later on he studied at the prestigious Berkley College of Music University in Boston.
When he finished university, he returned to Barcelona to play with well known national artists and work as a studio musician.
At the same time he formed his own blues band, Blue Heart, and has played at different well known national and international festivals in the musical scene and which has enabled Xavier Soranells make a name for himself in the European blues scene.
Xavier is currently working on what will be his most personal project – eXeSs (the abbreviation of his initials XS). eXeSs seeks an excellence of sound when creating their music and which is achieved by working with only the best musicians and recording studies.

The eXeSs Project

eXeSS is synonymous with great music and powerful soul; a modern sound that does not lose sight of the classics. It has well-crafted arrangements and precise techniques that give a direct and fresh energy, which conveys the passion of the lyrics to the audience.
At this moment, the project has a four songs EP - I can’t wait, Make a Change, Stare at me cold, and Heartbreak. Recorded at Bucbonera Records last May (co-produced by Tomàs Robisco and Xavier Soranells) and mastered in the Abbey Road Studios by Sean Magee. And also a vinyl single – Walking everywhere, Stay Lucy stay.

eXeSs are working on their first record which includes 12 original inedited songs with Jordi Bastida as the head of the production team.
The other musicians that form the band are Ruben Berengena (drums), Abel Boquera / Adri González (hammond and keyboards), Charlie Cuevas (bass guitar), Jordi Bastida (guitars), Susana Torregrossa and Mònica Samit (backing singers).
