Ex Libras return in 2015 with their second album Side Step Left.
It’s been five years since their captivating debut album ’Suite(s)’, which made quite an impression. Clash, Q, DIY, The 405, The Line of Best Fit, Drowned in Sound, Prog Magazine, BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, XFM’s John Kennedy and Amazing Radio were amongst the band’s early supporters. Soon after their 2009 debut, the band released EP ‘Cut(s)’, which cemented them as serious players on the scene.
Now Amit Sharma (Guitar / Vocals), Kieran Nagi (Keyboards / Bass) and Ross Kenning (Drums) are ready to make their return having honed their sound, which is sharper, more focused and stronger than before. Side Step Left is an album that is big and bold, flirting with the experimental, mixed by Alan Moulder who has worked with bands like Foals, Interpol, White Lies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Their time away from the spotlight has truly defined Ex Libras’ sound, which falls somewhere between Thom Yorke, Liars and Deptford Goth but, comparisons aside, Ex Libras' sound is their own - the mark of a great band. (A Badge of Friendship)
