Eric Shoves Them in His Pockets Short Info

Eric Shoves Them in His Pockets is a band who never wanted to be a rock band, but kind of is. It’s a band who wanted to play some sad tunes, but, apparently, they play happy tunes. They have toured Germany twice and regularly tour Poland. ESTIHP has two albums under their belt: the mini album Lay Down from Spring 2013 and the full LP Walk It Off from October 2013, released on Thin Man Records.

The Polish trio - Hubert, Christoph and Simon - are two cousins and a dude they met in high school. One is tall, another is pretty tall and the third dude is short, but at least he sings. Eric Shoves self-released a mini-album entitled Lay Down in Spring 2013. The band laid down tracks that they just love to play in the rehearsal room and in front of people - though they far prefer playing for hoardes of people.
Their music can be found on the soundtrack to the acclaimed Polish indie film Wszystko Płynie. In May 2013, the band had the pleasure of going on a fifteen-concert tour of Germany with Paula & Karol (who both Szymon and Christoph happen to play in). Eric Shoves spent last summer vacation in Warsaw playing concerts and preparing their debut full-length album Walk It Off released in October 2013 on Thin Man Records.
Eric Shoves Them in His Pockets is a band who never wanted to be a rock band, but kind of is. It’s a band who wanted to play some sad tunes, but, apparently, they play happy tunes. And they wanted to write songs more than play them... but it turns out that playing is even more fun. Somehow, this trio is, in a roundabout way, doing all of that at the same time.

"This trio had a huge amount of fun playing their own music and interacting with the audience. A sincere, friend-ly atmosphere, the boys are in perfect control of their compositions and also allow for a bit of craziness - all of this made me feel like I was at the concert of a really well-known college band." - We Are From Poland! blog review after Off Festival 2014

"Light, ethereal, spacious - All of this is missing in Polish indie music. Thank goodness there are exceptions and one of them is Eric Shoves Them In His Pockets. The trio's concert at the Katowice festival convinced us that playing the guitar doesn't have to mean playing utterly worn out riffs and a laid back attitude is far more appealing. It was 45 minutes of unpretentious, unobtrusive hits, filled with songs that fully embody the word 'cool'." - Przemek Gulda for the daily Gazeta Wyborcza after Off Festival 2014
