Eleni Violaris is a singer/songwriter/composer from London, best known for her work on the BBC series' 'Francesco's Mediterranean Voyage' and David Dimbleby's 'Seven Ages of Britain'.

Eleni has toured and performed in the UK with Andrea Bocelli (televised Classic Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall, London 02 Arena, Birmingham NEC), performed with Ray Davies (The Kinks) and recorded backing vocals on albums by Katherine Jenkins and Lesley Garrett. Eleni has also performed at The Proms, The South Bank, The Barbican, Cadogan Hall and has recorded on a number of albums and film soundtracks with the world renowned Crouch End Festival Chorus at Abbey Road and Air Lyndhurst Studios.

Eleni, who plays piano, flute and guitar, co-wrote and produced her debut album, 'Rainstriker', with support from the US-based crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter. 'Rainstriker' is a unique concept album that fuses pop, folk, new age, classical and classical crossover with cinematic and games music style arrangements and appeals to a very wide demographic. The album, which was inspired by Anglo-Saxon, Norse, British and Greek myths and legends was released in June 2015 and distributed worldwide on Eleni's own indie label (Magic Sphere Records) after she walked away from offers made by Sony Classical and Warner Classics & Jazz, in order to retain full artistic control.

Testimonials:

"Rainstriker is a real winner" - John Kelleher, head of Warner Classics & Jazz

“In turns lyric, epic, and elegiac, these lush and deeply imaginative reinterpretations of Anglo-Saxon and Celtic tales, themes, words, and legends offer today’s audience distant echoes of a vanished past only dimly remembered, but here artistically and theatrically represented in the gorgeous voice of Eleni Violaris and the soaring sounds of her inspired and inspiring music”

- Andy Orchard (British academic in Old English, Norse and Celtic literature and Rawlinson and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon at the University of Oxford and a fellow of Pembroke College, Oxford).

"Rainstriker is a dazzling and inspiring debut: an immersive, cinematic experience with Enya-esque spirituality and virtuoso arrangements leavened by a rich tapestry of stories drawn from Celtic and Norse history and mythology. A star is born in Eleni's singing, pure as a mountain stream yet deeply emotive as in tracks like 'The Linden' or the achingly beautiful 'Dream Spinner', her rich tone reminiscent of a young Madonna transformed into Middle-Earth heroine"

- Hamish McCartan (Writer & Producer).
