Christian Elin and Maruan Sakas are two crossover musicians who in forming an exceptional duo have become true kindred spirits.

Both musicians are entirely at home in the fields of jazz and classical music, and their love of free improvisation on the one hand and the clarity of classical forms on the other find expression in their compositions.
In their début programme "Some kind of Blues", Elin and Sakas use the whole spectrum of jazz, minimal music, film music and ethnic sound to demonstrate their feel for beautiful harmonies in a simple, untrammelled but profound type of music whose harmonic appeal is intensified by Elin ́s range of instruments - from soprano saxophone to bass clarinet.
Just as many of the duo ́s compositions were often prompted by particular moments in their lives and were felt by the musicians to be special gifts, so too they are intended as gifts for the public.

In 2013 Christian Elin was awarded the Bavarian Young Artist's Award. In 2015 he was invited as artist in residence at the french Festival "1001 Notes" in Limoges and performed his composition "Waves" for soprano saxophone and string orchestra during the world saxophone congress in Strasbourg with the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse.
