Transmission | EP | 2014 |
With their debut EP 'Transmission' released 1 October 2014 and a string of festival appearances already ticked off, including Beacons, Threshold and Brownstock, the band have achieved a great deal this year and have their sights set on conquering 2015 too.
Down Radio have firmly established themselves at the forefront of a new group of emerging artists, who's live shows combine powerful electronics and traditional instruments; the display is thoroughly entertaining and heart-stoppingly energetic.
Down Radio are: Ed Cottle, Vocals – Sam Lawson, Guitar – Joe Thom, Synths – Andy Siron, Drums

“When they kicked in to their set it didn't take long to realise how amazing this band is. I was completely blown away. It can't be described with words you just need to go see for yourself. These guys bring that rebellious side of music to the fore in a way that will make you either wanna jump up or tear sh*t down. If you haven't seen this band live then this is one to definitely check out.”
- Leeds Music Scene 2014
“We might have lost Plan B to RnB crooner territory and we might be waiting on Jamie T’s comeback a little too eagerly, but the dubby hip hop efforts of Down Radio have all the bite and bombast we’ve been missing. Their social commentary probes convention, ideal for those who like their live music to come with a conscience”
- Beacons Festival 2014
"They blend hip-hop beats, delicate guitar hooks and melodies, massive heart pounding bass lines with distinctive hip- hop/indie vocals. It’s an unusual but really interesting mix, delivered with such vigour and swagger, that it is hard to not instantly love them."
