Dog Orchestra is a Swedish-born, Berlin-bred indietronica duo known for their hushed, raw vocals and contemporary love stories over ambient soundscapes and muted synths.

The act began their journey in a small studio apartment in Neukölln in 2012. Raised on indie pop, the exploration of the Berlin 24-hour nightlife and progressive electronica scene was the catalyst that gave birth to their signature sound which has been described as “The Knife producing The National”.

The band created a minor blog buzz in 2014 when a few demos surfaced online. Having signed to Kobalt executive Benjamin Groff’s publishing company Brill Building that same year, their debut EP Meow hit the shelves in August 2016. Containing ”one of the standout tracks of 2016” (Noisey) and being both ”uniquely executed” and ”thought-provoking” (Indie Shuffle), it was well received and in line with what their original demos promised.

Meow was co-produced with Bram Inscore (Icona Pop, Feist, Charlotte Gainsbourg) and mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Darrell Thorp (Beck, Gnarls Barkley, Radiohead). It also featured guest vocals from Linnéa Martinsson (Lune), whose dreamy voice made itself known on Adrian Lux’s hit song Teenage Crime as well as the remake of Swedish House Mafia’s epic Leave the World Behind.

While their first EP was ”not a consciously conceptual release, just a few songs that we feel are honest expressions from our little corner of the world”, the duo has hinted that upcoming releases will define Dog Orchestra’s artistic ambitions further. An album is expected in 2017.
