Originally influenced by the American alternative/punk scenes of the early 80s/90s espoused by bands such as Fugazi, the band immediately set off on a DIY mission from conception : setting up a record label, festivals , running an arts warehouse in North London, and touring across the continent playing anywhere and everywhere that would have them. Politically outspoken, multi-cultural, totally unfashionable, and from the darker, grittier un-gentrified side of urban London, Djevara's goal is as ever to make honest art played with 100% commitment and 100% honesty.
