http://dixiefried.co.uk/ There might only be two of them, but Dixie Fried make more of an impact than most bands twice their size.

Their howling take on the blues fuses the trance-inducing rhythms of the North Mississippi Hill counties, with more contemporary influences such as RL Burnside, The Black Keys, Junior Kimbrough and Led Zeppelin, resulting in something new, something unique, something that can only be Dixie Fried.

One listen to that sparse, dirty and raw guitar sound being propelled along with the heaviest hitting, but no less groove-based, percussion is all that it takes to make a new fan and there's more being converted all the time. Just ask anyone who caught them at any of the numerous blues festivals they stole the show at or supporting folk The Beards, Molotov Jukebox, Dave Arcari, Marcus Bonfanti, Broken Hands, Cedric Burnside, Proud Mary and My Baby and they'll tell you: this lot are something special.

Forming in 2011, singer/guitarist Craig Lamie drummer John Murphy have established themselves as one of the hardest-working unsigned acts in Scotland, releasing three albums and honing their craft on a heavy gigging schedule.

From venues like King Tuts and The Voodoo Rooms to festivals such as Beatherder, Belladrum, Eden and Southern Fried, Dixie Fried have been relentless in their mission to get their music seen and heard by as many people as possible. Having headlined King Tuts Summer Nights festival at the top of a great bill including Miracle Glass Company, there is a ‘buzz’ leaving gigs with a huge indelible mark on your soul.

It's working too, with an ever-growing fanbase and another album due soon, it's only just the beginning for Dixie Fried. This road they are on has a way to go yet.
