"If you pop the term “Deep.Sleep music” into any well known search engine then the first results are usually eight-hour long videos filled with apparently soothing music designed to help you drift off into a blissful snooze.

As any band (or indeed logic) will tell you though, this is not the effect you want to have on your audience. Luckily for Deep.Sleep, their name is just a little rouse to lull you into a false sense of security and are anything but soporific.

Why? Because Deep.Sleep is the full band project of Daniel Frend and are rapidly being transformed into a meaty live prospect that’s just a bit too juicy to pass up. A couple of weeks ago Frend released his debut EP The Slowdown, a collection of beautifully crafted retro, 60s-esque pop songs and sophisticated, melancholic electronica. Basically, think James Blake if he came from Whitley Bay and fronted the Beach Boys (so, so much better than that analogy sounds)." - NARC MAGAZINE

"Deep.Sleep point out that at the age of 19, people can still get wiser, but also at the age of 21, you can still get fucked off a fiver (try Frosty Jacks, for example). Their teenage rebellion addled lyrics can often leave you smiling at their cheeky chappy charm." - Gigwise
