A songwriter, musician, producer, promoter, artist manager, and community advocate, his passion for all aspects of music drives him.

Although best known as part of the Juno nominated pop group, Hey Ocean! David has also made a name for himself through his collaborations with other artists including Shad, Hannah Georgas, Dear Rouge, & Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party. His debut solo album, Cardiography gained him critical acclaim as well as two West Coast Music Award nominations for best pop album and songwriter of the year.

In the spirit of artists such as Leonard Cohen, The National, Hayden or David Bazan, Vertesi’s music conveys an honesty that echoes through your head long after your first listen and pulls you back with force. He is a consummate songwriter and musician and though he pays subtle homage to his influences, he seems to have carved out a welcomed place for his own distinct sound.
