He has
released three albums of original music as a
leader; Circumstance (2006), Anticipation
(2010) and Impetus (2015). While the roots of
his music are in classic jazz, he combines
elements of classical harmony and
counterpoint resulting in a very original
compositional style. His approach to the
trumpet is also unique, intervallic and
harmonically sophisticated yet lyrical and
emotional.
In addition to his own recordings, he is
featured as a sideman on over thirty
recordings including for Columbia Records,
EMI, Motown, Fresh Sound New Talent,
Steeplechase, Brooklyn Jazz Underground
Records and several smaller labels and
independent releases. He has also recorded
for national broadcasts on CBC Radio in
Canada and Denmarks Radio in Denmark and
appears on two film soundtracks. He has
recorded for Harry Connick Jr., Alan Ferber
(including his Grammy-nominated March
Sublime), Jon Gordon and Tom Jones among
others. He appears regularly in the New York
area as well as touring in the U.S. and
abroad.
