New to Montreal’s scene, Das Mörtal began his adventure a few years ago in Berlin where he would coin the term “sci-wave” to better describe his music.
Influenced by artists such as Steve Moore, Aphex Twin, Vitalic, Collège, etc. and heavily shaped by Berlin techno of the 90s and American pop-culture of the 80s, Das Mörtal’s sound has a darkness to it, a brooding heaviness that help transcend the romantic notions of nostalgia already set in motion.
