The year is 2013 The place: Tenerife.

The wine: 75 cents a bottle and actually quite drinkable.

The drunken holidaymakers are Debbie Bilson (lead vocals and gnarly bass) and Ainsley Stones (guitar and backing vocals) from Sheffield, England. The excitable rock nerds were in fine songwriting form that night and after finishing a song with too many time signatures for its own good, made an easy decision to dispense with the whole acoustic duo entity which they had formed, in favour of something more "them". So Dark Sky Park was born.

Debbie and Ainsley began to refine their sound in coming months. They had a common passion for dark, melodic riffs and sometimes unexpected twists and turns in their favourite music. Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Ziggy Stardust, Queens of the Stone Age and MCR are are always obvious influences. Others include Motorhead, Metallica, System of a Down, ABBA and Slaves.

As Ainsley commented "we're pretty much going for ABBA's hooks and Sabbath's riffs somehow....so I suppose we're spanning A to B at least!"

On the back of the highly-favourable reviews of their debut "Follow Me" EP, the band signed to Holier Than Thou Records in 2016 and have gained great reviews and much airplay, as well as being renowned for their excellent live performance. In early 2018 Dark Sky Park's sound was augmented with the arrival of highly experienced and hugely capable Metal drummer Jai Geer, who is now the powerhouse of the band.
