We all grew up in the middle of nowhere, a place we like to call ‘The Shire’.

There is absolutely nothing to do in The Shire (other than shaving your feet or painting your perfectly circular front door..), so we began hanging out after college and just jamming music. We started writing our own tunes and when we could scrap together a 25 minute set we got our first gig at our local venue AKA. A couple of days before the show we remembered that we didn’t have a name yet. We have a tendency of forgetting things or leaving things until the last minute you see, and the night before the show we agreed that we had to find a name. We ended up going out on the pisser and in the morning ‘Dance a la Plage' was the only name suggestion we actually remembered, so voila! We were ‘Dance a la Plage’. The rest from there is a long and hazy blur…

Our debut EP 'Short Stay At Clarence Pier' reached #14 in the iTunes Alt Charts. It was accompanied by our first UK tour supporting the likes of The 1975, Little Comets, King Charles, Professor Green, Stooshe, Coasts and Frankie Cocozza. Two lead tracks 'Need To Know' and 'Matilda' combined have over 500,000 online streams.

The single was supported by BBC Introducing Oxford, Amazing Radio and helped the band get a slot at various festivals including Truck Festival, Cornbury, BeachBreak Live and LainFest. This was followed by most recent release 'Hope' which reached #26 in the iTunes Alt Charts.
