Daggers & Waves were conceived in Bristol UK, January 2013, though the band became friends after studying together at Dartington College of Arts.

All are accomplished musicians and composers and every member of the band has extensive live experience playing all across Europe and the UK, including Glastonbury festival, Shambala, the Bristol Festival, and established Bristol venues such as The Thekla, The Trinity Arts Centre, The Fleece, and The Louisiana. They have also received radio airplay as well as performing a number of times for BBC Radio Bristol.

Their live shows are arresting. Raw but hopeful, potent and, tragic, they are forever re-ravelling the fringes of dilemma and damnation.

Band leader and self-confessed ‘quantum philanthropist’ Jassen Summogum states “Our songs are inspired by tales of the city, loss, friendship and hope, whilst the band’s music has embraced many influences from electro, proto-punk, jazz, shoe-gaze, rock ‘n’ roll and soul.”
Their new album ‘Wayward Lines’ is the culmination of nearly a year of recording at Bristol's famous J&J Studios. During this fertile period the band recorded over 20 songs of which 5 will be released on an E.P. on 6th of April 2015, with their debut album to follow later in year. Though still unreleased, the early feedback has been extremely positive:

“One of the best indie rock records of 2014.” - Feckin deadly Music

“Eclectic, raucous and brimming with a bounding energy, their sound moulds Rock ‘N Roll, Jazz and the entire history of Indie into a raw musical spectrum of brilliance.” - Counterpoint collective

“Heavy beats and lyrics containing anger, humour and the sort of clever and rude imagery that Ian Dury did so well” - Bristol Evening Post

They have a strong ethos of continually moving forward. Bass player Ruari Floyd says “We’re always progressing. Writing, recording and playing live are what we live for. We rarely play the same live set twice, always trying out new material for our fans. It’s all about feeding off the energy in the room and to make the audience feel special. Like they’re a part of something real and spontaneous.”

To support their E.P release, Daggers & Waves are booking selected live dates as part of a UK tour, including a slot at the prestigious 2000 trees festivals. There are also two music videos currently in production that will be released alongside the EP.
Their debut E.P, Wayward Lines will be available at all major online retailers including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and the official band website form 6th of April 2015.
