Common Holly is the dark folk music of Brigitte Naggar performed with a small collective of Montreal musicians--Kevin Murrell (Lilouette), Alex Kasirer-Smibert (Pomptet, Thanya Iyer), Isaac Latham (Des Moines).
Best described as "what dappled sunlight would sound like if it had a voice," Common Holly’s music explores the fragile shapes of melancholy and confession, but also embodies a strange and humorous resilience. Common Holly's debut LP, Playing House, produced as a collaboration between Naggar and Devon Bate (BUFFLO, Jean-Michel Blais,) was self-released in June 2016.
