Close Talker is an indie rock quartet from the great plains of Saskatoon.

With subtle earworm melodies and blood harmonies set against tightly wound rhythms they have drawn comparisons to Bon Iver, Local Natives, and Bombay Bicycle Club.
Following the release of their debut EP, Timbers, in February of 2013 the band went on to become finalists in the national CBC Searchlight competition for Canada’s Best New Artist. Close Talker have performed at a number of notable festivals and showcases including Ness Creek, Gateway Festival, MOSO Fest, Ponderosa Festival, and the Regina Folk Fest where they showcased on the main stage to a capacity crowd directly before headliner Feist. The band also has a strong tour history, including dates with Royal Canoe and Library Voices.
In May of 2014, on the heels of an Eastern Canadian tour that included a stop in Toronto for Canadian Music Week, Close Talker recorded their follow up full length record “Flux” with producer/engineer Jace Lasek (Stars, Patrick Watson, Wolf Parade) at Breakglass Studios in Montreal. “Flux” was released via Nevado Records (Yukon Blonde, Bahamas, John Grant) on November 4th in North America and January 26th in Europe + the UK in partnership with Rough Trade Distribution. Since the release, the band have experienced great success appearing in SPIN, Interview, Q Magazine and more and have watched their record chart via radio across North America, UK, and Europe. Close Talker will be playing showcases at this year’s SXSW in Austin, TX and The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, UK.
