Ceiling Demons are an alternative art-rap band from rural northern England.

Born out of bereavement and taking influence from artists such as The Streets, Joy Division, Tricky and Serengeti. Combining poetic wordplay from front men and twin brothers; Psy Ceiling and Dan Demon over cinematic instrumentals, Ceiling Demons aim to strike your heartstrings with their intense and chaotic performances touching on themes of love and loss. Art over entertainment, delivered with a punk philosophy. The Demons are strong advocates of addressing mental health issues in their art and have worked extensively with suicide prevention charities such as CALM to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to their hearts. They’ve also supported the likes of Young Fathers, Sleaford Mods and Busdriver among other favourites and are championed by Louder Than War and NARC Magazine in the UK for their passionate live shows. Their critically acclaimed album Nil has been released by two independent record labels since it first emerged in late 2017 with Win Big Records initially putting out the album on CD and cassette formats before DIY record label; Butterfly Effect re-issued the album as a beautiful limited vinyl with profits going towards mental health charity - Men Tell Health.

2020 sees the release of new music, including the extremely limited 'Illusions' 7" dropping via Butterfly Effect, as well as UK tour dates and the unravelling of a progressive new full-length long play...

’Deep, delicious stuff that cuts through into relatable feelings.’ – Jumbo Records

'Amazingly powerful and heartfelt roots music from the North of England’ - Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

'There’s something inherently rapturous permeating everything they do' - NARC. Magazine

'They open the door to their souls ... and you’re invited in. Enter with caution and an open mind.' - Wah Wah Records

'They make their own British brand of gloomy, introspective poetic folk rap. I recommend checking them out.' - Ceschi Ramos, Fake Four Inc.

'With Nil descends a darkness, themes of male suicide, of loneliness, and lost hope prevail but with a sense of positivity that everything will and can be overcome.' 9/10 - Louder Than War

'Living and dying by their definition of the dark arts, this will greatly benefit your gramophone.' - Monolith Cocktail

'Devastatingly beautiful.' - Spotlight Music UK

'A totally unique sound, which is borderline masterpiece.' - For The Love of Bands

'An undeniably bracing listen.' - The Crack
