Sébastien Leibundguth et Jean-Baptiste Berger partagent la même envie: réaliser un trio alliant énergie, violence, douceur, contraste et mélangeant, tous ces langages musicaux qu’ils écoutent ou pratiquent depuis tant d’années. On parle alors de Marc Ducret mais aussi de Steve Vai, de John Zorn mais également de John Coltrane, de Paul Motian Trio, d’Hyperactive Kids en passant par Tiny Bell Trio, de la scène française tant qu’allemande en passant par New-York, de la scène jazz à celle du rock…
Ils démarrent alors un travail de composition, d’improvisation et d’apprivoisement!
Les thèmes tortueux glissent sur des ritournelles chaotiques. Les solos se percutent aux rythmiques impaires. Les motifs désuets s’enchevêtrent aux clichés assumés.

La rencontre avec Jérôme Klein, batteur luxembourgeois, et avec Jean-Baptiste Berger s’effectue lors de leur participation au projet européen Jazzplayseurope en 2012. Aventure qui leur permettra de partager leurs gôuts musicaux et l’envie de jouer à nouveau ensemble.

Cette rencontre offre toute la richesse du son jazz et la précision du classique à l’esthétique rock la plus épurée. L’improvisation et l’écriture sont au service d’un lyrisme et d’une énergie des plus communicatives, se déclinant parfois dans des tons sombres, parfois rutilants, toujours passionnels.
Le trio se veut un lieu d’expression et de dialogue entre les trois musiciens – à voix égales – qui revendiquent l’ouverture à tous les possibles ; à l’instantané et au
prémédité. De l’improvisation à l’écrit, du son à la mélodie.
Entre longueurs amères et envolée des plus orageuses, ce trio batterie-saxophone-guitare baigne dans un univers résolument contemporain.

The meeting between Jérôme Klein, Luxemburg drummer, and Jean-Baptiste Berger happened during their participation to the European project Jazzplayseurope in 2012. An adventure which allowed them to share their musical tastes and give them a desire to play together agin.This meeting offers all the wealth of the jazz sound and the precision of the classic to the most uncluttered rock esthetics. The improvisation and the writing contribute to
an expressive lyrism and energy. Sometimes declining into dark, sometimes sparkling, but always passionate tones. The trio aims allow expression and dialogue between three musicians - in equal voices - claiming an opening to all possible endings; in the immediate and deliberate.
