The band got established after the band's singer Sergei Vartiainen came back from a road trip in Asia in 2012. He spent two months on the road and wrote the first Bye Mandu songs in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Bye Mandu has released four singles and the last release is recently published ‘Walk Alone’. Sergei writes most of the songs and draws inspiration from bands like Arctic Monkeys, Kooks and Editors. The other musicians, Sampo Sundström (guitar), Ippi Arjanne (bass) and Oskari Järvinen (drums) are professional musicians playing in top notch Finnish bands inc. Sanni and Milla Rumi. Bye Mandu has performed actively in the major Finnish cities, venues and events like Flow Festival 2014 and is looking for opportunities to rock the venues also in UK and Germany.
